Candidate Services - CV Advice
To be able to get the chance
to interview it is vital that your CV is laid out well. You have to make sure
that all the skills and experiences the client is looking for in their Job
Specification are clearly visible at the beginning of your CV and in your roles.
We would recommend the
following layout:
-
Name, Personal Details and
Profile (a few lines at most) should be at the top of your CV
-
A brief summary of your
experience, including all the skills you have that match the Job Description
-
Your Education and
Qualifications
-
A Skills Matrix laying out
all your technical skills, again ensuring that you mention all the skills that
match the Job Description
-
Work History should be
listed in reverse Chronological order and each role should clearly state what
your responsibilities were and what skills you used. You should ensure that
the skills that match the Job Description are perhaps bolded to bring them to
the client’s attention
-
Interests – a lot of clients
use this section to get an idea of a person, so ensure you list any interests
you may have.
-
References – we would
recommend that you put “References available upon Request”
